1. What is your fee for an individual session?

 

$180.00 including HST for a 50 minute session. Contact me for more information about group fees and consulting work.

 

2. Are your individual psychotherapy services covered by OHIP or Insurance?

 

Psychotherapy services are not yet covered by OHIP.  However, most insurance companies now cover psychotherapy.  I am a registered psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (#003623), so check your benefit package to see if my services are covered or partially covered. Therapy sessions can also be claimed as a medical expense for tax deduction.

 

2. Can we meet before I commit to therapy?

 

Yes. I offer a free 20 minute consult in person, on the phone or by video chat.

 

3. Do you offer therapy over video chat?

 

I prefer to see clients face to face.  Occasionally when a client has to leave Toronto for a while, we may schedule some sessions over video chat, using the secure video conferencing service GoToMeeting.

 

4. When is payment due?

 

Payment is due before each session begins.  I accept e-transfer, cheque, credit card or cash.  A receipt is given directly after each session. 

 

5. What is your cancellation policy?

I need 24 hours in advance before your session begins or I charge for the missed session.

 

6. Are there any forms for me to sign before I begin therapy?

 

Every client I see has to read and sign the “client informed consent form.”  I will send it to you by email and ask you to print it, read it, fill it in, and sign it. This form tells you of your rights and responsibilities as a client.

8. Is there parking near your office?

 

There is free parking in the parking lot just south of 204 St. George Street.  It is accessible from Lowther Avenue via the first laneway west of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, 196 St. George.

 

9.  How many sessions do clients usually have?

 

That depends on a lot of factors such as symptoms, scheduling, finances etc. I offer both long term and short term work.  

 

10. Do you offer a discount on therapy?

 

Yes, I have 3 spots available at a discounted rate.  Please speak with me if you are in need of a subsidy.  

 

11. Do you have a waiting list?

 

Usually. Once you have a 20 minute consult and we determine that we are a good fit, I put you on a waiting list if there are no spots available and let you know when one becomes available. I also provide referrals to other therapists if you need to see someone immediately.

12. Is your office accessible?

Unfortunately because it is an old building built in the 1800s, it is not wheel-chair accessible. If you are unsure about whether the office will be accessible to you, please contact me for more information. I am happy to see you by video chat, or to make a referral to a therapist who practices in an accessible space to anyone who needs one.
